These are signs and vinyl squares I designed for the release of Dior’s Forever Undercover Foundation. Using brand-provided assets, I designed signage that complies with Nordstrom’s branding guidelines for in-store promotional signage. This feature includes a large promotional sign, a plank graphic, a small product sign, and vinyl fixture squares.

Dior V1 Feature Wireframe

This is where the design starts. Using a Nordstrom standard template, I laid out the pieces needed for this promotion. This wireframe is then distributed to stores along with the signs themselves so employees will know what is required.

V1 Feature Signage

Here are the signs I laid out live in store, photographed inside Nordstrom Store 1 in downtown Seattle. This position is at the entrance to the Beauty department where it will be seen by everyone who enters the store.

Large Feature Sign and 7x11 Product Sign

This is a detail shot of the large promotional sign and the 7x11 product sign. The photos for the signs are provided by each brand, and I created signs in InDesign. The files are then sent to brand representatives for approval, then sent to one of several local commercial printers for creation and distribution.

Plank Graphic and Vinyl Squares

Each Nordstrom store has white painted planks for use in this feature position. The job of the plank graphic is to display the product name and tag line. The brands do not provide images for the plank graphics or squares, so it was up to me to make these decisions.

In this case, I took a portion of the background image from the product shot to create the texture for the vinyl squares, and took inspiration from the product shots for the plank graphic.
